I have made a career change. I’m shifting from FT employment as an exec at a fast paced startup to project-based consulting. I’m adding value in areas of culture, content, community. Some projects are less defined as in “we just need some Elke” while others are more precisely scoped.
I am finishing my book and will be seeking an agent and publication this year.
We are also adjusting to a half empty nest and ever evolving sons. It’s a time of reinvention whether we want to or not.
I wanted to create some space and structure to explore and be intentional with the many layers of new phases, so I joined Tammi Salas’ INVITATION class.
I am not a terribly structured soul so this class is a gift. Once a week we call in and learn about Tammi’s practices— the woman is a structure and ritual master. She challenged us to find a Word Of The Year (WOTY) to kick off 2022. I struggled. I felt too cheesy or too skeptical. I kept bumping into words that seemed limiting.
I am seeking flexibility. I am seeking LESS limits. I need freedom to make changes and mistakes and money and time… and holy shit, there is was. My word. MAKE
And I was unlocked. After struggling for a week with WOTY word mapping I did my MAKE map in about 3 minutes.
And because I was then enamored with Tammi’s technique of black gesso and a white pen— intently satisfying and forces me to go just a notch slower (this is a good thing)—I then gessoed a few more pages and just started writing what was going to happen this year. Not quite resolutions, more declarations. I picked a color— green because it was the only one to have the word MAKE in its description on the sheet I was looking at. Simple. And right.
Green: space / truth / freedom. Gives one the space to find their truth and direction. Helps one MAKE decision. Shines a light on your true (heart) path.

So I am off to the races— a year stretched out before me with space and time and room to MAKE some magic.
Now to find some green paint.

And if you want to talk more about consulting or “just need a little Elke” in your projects, let’s connect.
Knowing you, you will make it great! Cheers my dear!
